Congratulations to our Governor's Teacher and Educational Specialist of the Year Recipients
Allison Gormley is an English and Drama teacher who has been teaching at Fair Lawn High School for 7 years. She is recognized for elevating the FLHS Drama program through her class teaching and Masques Club directorship, positioning FLHS to offer a CTE program in Dramatic Theater Arts. In the classroom and on stage, she cultivates an environment of curiosity and wonder and creates a place where students feel a sense of safety and belonging. A student wrote that she is, “respected because she is respectful. It goes both ways.” A colleague said that “her decency and talent make her students, her colleagues - anyone she works with - better.” FLHS is proud to recognize Allison Gormley as our Teacher of the Year.
Marcia Neugebauer is a Speech Language Therapist who has been practicing at Fair Lawn High School for 9 years. She is recognized for the services she offers to students and staff alike, teaching students language skills to equip them for school and life success and presenting professional development to staff to better enable us to support our students and one another. A student wrote that “She is great with understanding people. She doesn’t judge. She has a great soul and will always be a big part of my success.” Because of the ways in which she helps such a wide variety of people, FLHS is proud to recognize Marcia Neugebauer as our Education Services Professional (ESP) of the Year.
