The FLHS Child Care Program provides a unique experience for both the preschoolers and the high school seniors. Under the guidance of Ms. Bell, the seniors will learn about child growth and development from prenatal through age 5. They will also explore preschool curriculum, children's literature, working with special needs and ELL children, and how to create an inviting and safe learning environment for all students. Ms. Bell will guide them with through the lesson planning process as they plan and prepare engaging, hands-on lessons for the preschoolers each day.
The preschoolers in the Child Care class will work in small learning groups with the seniors. The seniors will use a "Theme of the Week" and "Letter of the Week" to guide their instruction.
